Honey asked:
Has anyone ever check out the discrimination policy of the New York Times?
Someone needs to go over and check the discrimination policy of the New York Times.
Freedom of speech is one thing. I think they need a Sensitivity program.
Americans screamed when people burned the flag and they have one in the fireplace. Americans screamed when people wore the flag as a diaper. So I ask you what is so funny?
Yes, my bad. The NEW YORKER
the magazine. Not the news paper.
If I werer them, I’d be screaming also.
And Please Show some intelligence.
Not your shoe size.

VoiceOfReason added these pithy words on Nov 05 08 at 8:50 amThe New Yorker is like eminem… Everyone is fair game…
Nothing is sacred…
You take it from where it’s coming from…
Long live liberty in law…
Let each one’s conscience be his guide…
Let our consciences be guided by law…
afk added these pithy words on Nov 07 08 at 12:44 amIt’s the New Yorker, not the New York Times. Flag burning is covered by freedom of speech. You don’t have to like it, but you have to allow it. I happen to like my freedom of speech.
Wrenched added these pithy words on Nov 08 08 at 5:00 pmYou’re kidding, right…
hey =] added these pithy words on Nov 11 08 at 11:54 amdiscrimination policy?
ugh oh god.
okay listen, most of the americans really dont give a flying **** what other people in america say about their race . In other countries , thats a different story. Honestly the middle eastern countries really should get over it. There are much worse cartoons in the Times Union everyday then the cartoon that those countries flipped out about.
xxoo added these pithy words on Nov 14 08 at 2:05 pmI guess you need to be an intellectual to understand it, is a SATIRE look up the meaning and maybe just maybe you will understand it. And who cares about the discrimination policy of the new york times,, You care? then you go and check it,, then keep it to yourself.
Dick H added these pithy words on Nov 16 08 at 12:32 pmWhat is so funny is that the cartoon was in the New Yorker and you are blaming the New York Times. LMAO
RAWR!!!!!!!! added these pithy words on Nov 18 08 at 3:51 amI feel that burning the flag is OK if it has some symbolic meaning… if its denied then its a violation of our rights.
> Remember this once came upon a court case and was ruled to be OK by the Supreme Court.Once more… the tabloid itself was meant to be liberal… that’s what the editor had said…
R G added these pithy words on Nov 20 08 at 8:45 pmI think Michelle’s face was funny .. that’s what cracked me up.
They didn’t do anything wrong in the cartoon.
1) flag in the fireplace - Obama dropping the flag pin and refusing to salute
2) Wearing Arab clothing - He did wear those for a long time.. we seen pics..thats why he cant tie a tie..lol
3) fist bump - they did that too
4) the picture hanging - he is terrorist friendly
5) the clothing Michelle was wearing - they are all about Malcom. panthers etc.. they had posters hanging in their campaign officesThere was nothing wrong with the cartoon. Obama is just mad cause it pegged him.
And it was funny.
Bren added these pithy words on Nov 23 08 at 1:20 amNothing at all…
MonaLisa added these pithy words on Nov 25 08 at 3:43 pmThe New Yorker is a liberal magazine. I knew what you meant.
But what is funnier is the people liking it, that are Republicans.
Go figure. In actuality it would have been funnier if it were George Bush
and Bin Laden bending over and him kissing his behind.
I can see it now. The Saudi’s flag wrapped around his naked body and Bin laden saying kiss it and thank me for the oil and the death
of Saddam. Now that’s funny. and in line standing outside in the
hallway, all the butt kissers that have resigned, quit, got fired and wanna be’s.
True American added these pithy words on Nov 28 08 at 8:31 amThough its nice to be politically correct I’m sick of it, so i think people should publish whatever they want, its our right, that’s why America is the Land of the Free. If you take one right away from us it opens the door for more, if people cant handle the humor don’t look at it.
Uptown added these pithy words on Nov 29 08 at 9:47 amNothing.

Jean B added these pithy words on Dec 02 08 at 5:43 pmIn the first place it is NOT A CARTOON
It is a work of Satire. There is a HUGE difference.
spike missing debra m added these pithy words on Dec 02 08 at 10:03 pm’sensitivity programs’ are the left’s convenient method for getting people to ignore their first amendment rights-get a grip
crafty added these pithy words on Dec 05 08 at 4:13 pmThe New Yorker “misunderestimated” the passion of this election. The cartoon was likely drawn weeks ago, as was the decision to run it. This election has polarized people more than any other in my lifetime and it will only get uglier.
I will only forgive them if they run an equally tasteless “satirical” cartoon on their next issue. Perhaps one of John and Cindy in a jet dropping napalm on his ex wife and civilians in Vietnam, all while waving the American flag out the windows while they are having sex and planning how they will win the White House, whichever party will accept them as “candidates”, in their quest to show the World they are not losers.
